Virtual Reality is disrupting Real Estate. Are you taking advantage of it?
Real Estate agents can benefit greatly from making Virtual Reality part of their repertoire of marketing tools. VR can open up markets and new clients by allowing anyone in the world to tour your listings. But that’s not all it can do.
VR can do so much more than just provide an immersive experience. It should really be used as a marketing tool — There should be a goal in mind with a call to action and you want users to interact with it. Not just visit a property and look around but submit an application, or capture the user’s info.
This is why boxApp is such a powerful platform. boxApp allows you to insert things like images, videos, or call to action buttons into 360º tours and place them anywhere you’d like. You can also add navigation buttons to allow users to move inside your tours. All this and more, absolutely free!

What’s the best way for Real Estate agents to use boxApp?
As a REALTOR®, we understand that you are your brand and that you want to have control over your listings. To support your objectives, we created Organizations.
By creating your tours through your Organization, you have access to features that individual accounts do not, including:
- Using your logo as a watermark
- Using your logo to cover the camera’s tripod legs.
- Setting tours to draft, private, or public status.
To create an Organization in boxApp, all you need to do is register. Once you’ve created your free account, login and go to your profile page to create a new Organization.
You can learn more about Organizations in boxApp and all the features they offer in our Understanding boxApp Organizations page.
How should I take 360° photos of a space?
Taking a 360º picture of a space is all about placing the camera in the center of that space. For example, in the image above we show the tripod standing as close to the center of the room as possible. The camera’s height is also set to about half way from the floor to the ceiling.
How do I upload 360° photos of my listings to boxApp?
Once you have the 360º photos of your listing saved on your computer or phone, login to the app and click on the plus sign at the bottom-right of the screen to begin uploading your 360º photos or videos.
Drag & Drop
Drag and drop 360º images and videos and boxApp will transform them into an immersive experience.
Elevate your listing with an interactive Virtual Reality tour
Your virtual tour doesn’t have to end simply with beautiful 360º photos.
You have the ability to add Tooltips. This is our name for an information button. You can use them to display an image, video, text, or a call to action button.
Here are a few examples of how you might use Tooltips in your Virtual Reality tour.
- The home has a smart kitchen. You want to provide details about the appliances and the value they’d bring to the buyer.
- The windows in the home provide definitive cost savings with heating and cooling. This is a big selling feature, so you want to ensure the potential buyer is aware of this feature.
- The lighting and fixtures in the home are from a luxury designer that has a great deal of brand recognition. This is definitely a selling point you’d want to bring attention to.
- You want to capture potential buyers’ information. Using Tooltips you can link users to a Salesforce lead capturing form or any other CRM.

Benefits of Using boxApp To Showcase Your Listings in 3D
It’s Free
There are no hidden fees or costs to use boxApp. That includes no maximum on the number of tours you create or hosting fees.
In the future, Organizations will be charged a fee based on number of users. The only time you’ll incur a charge is if you invite other members of your team into your Organization. And, this is a charge you will have to approve, not one that will suddenly appear on your bill without you confirming.
It’s Easy and it Works for you
We created boxApp with real estate agents in mind. We know you don’t have time (nor should you have to make time) to understand technology in detail.
You understand that you have a limited amount of time in your day, and we want you to be able to focus on relationship building, selling and listing homes.
In turn, there are no learning curves to worry about when using boxApp, which creates more time in your day to do things that truly make a positive impact on your clients and the growth of your business.
Expands your market
A massive benefit to boxApp users is that your listings can be made available to virtually the entire world, while at the same time giving you full control of your brand and where and how the property is viewed by others.
With the growth of relocation clients and investors from other parts of the world, you’ll have the ability to showcase homes virtually by creating an immersive experience that makes the viewer feel like they’re right there in the home.
Generate Honest Listings
One valuable piece of feedback that we heard consistently from buyers and renters is that photos can be deceiving.
A lot of buyers complained about seeing photos of bathrooms and bedrooms online that did not represent those spaces accurately. Most of them stated that the home’s photos made certain spaces seemed a lot larger than what they truly were in real life.
With 3D virtual tours, you have a huge advantage here. When potential buyers see a bathroom in 360°, they get a very accurate representation of the space in terms of size and lighting. In turn, your target market will not feel deceived when they see the property in real life, increasing the propensity of converting a lead into a sale.
Create Serious Buyers
If a potential buyer has seen a virtual tour and requests an in-person showing, they are far more likely to be serious about purchasing that home because they have a clear understanding of the home’s layout and features versus someone who has just seen static photos on a website.
Again, we understand your time is extremely valuable, and that you’d rather spend time with serious buyers that those who are simply exploring what’s out there.
Showing my listings in 3D using boxApp has allowed me to focus all my efforts on those buyers who are truly serious and ready to pull the trigger.
